Shubman Gill scored the most runs in International cricket in 2025 with 1,764 runs under his belt, including 7 centuries and 3 half-centuries.

Gill became India's Test and ODI captain, taking over the role from Rohit Sharma. The 26-year-old could be set to lead the Indian team at the World Cup 2027

Gill was adjudged the player of the series against England for scoring 754 runs, including 4 centuries at an average of 75.4. Gill's brilliant batting and captaincy guided India to a 2-2 thrilling series away at England.

Gill continued his form against England in the ODI series, scoring 259 runs across three innings at an average of 86. He won the Player of the Series award and registered a hundred in the final match to become the fastest to 2,500 ODI runs
