On the even of their last Group A match against two-time champions Ghana, India head coach Luis Norton de Matos said the "Indian colts are ready to die for a win". "They are ready to go beyond their best to earn a victory for themselves and for the nation. I really want to see them score first. We had six clear chances to score so far, but converted just one. Now, I want them to take the lead first," De Matos said.

There are a couple of worries in the India locker room. Two excellent performers, Anwar Ali and captain Amarjit Singh Kiyam are injured. "If the match was today, both of them would not have played. But we have 24 hours and the medical team is working with them," he added.
