Cap Verde goalkeeper Vozinha has revealed that he received a special compliment from Lionel Messi after their 2-3 defeat to Argentina in the FIFA World Cup round of 32 clash. Vozinha, 40, said the Argentina skipper Messi embraced him after the match and acknowledged his effort at the tournament.
"I went up to Messi after the game. He hugged me and said, âYou are great. Your people should be proud of you.' That was incredible for me," said Vozinha, who came up with a brilliant save to deny Messi a free kick goal. "Hearing words like that from someone like Leo Messi means a lot to me. I thanked him and said, âThank you, Leo. You are the best.' Then I asked if we could swap shirts. Leo said he would give it to me in the tunnel after the interviews. Moments like these remain engraved in your heart forever," Vozinha said.
