Prithviraj Tanpure's brace takes AVM into quarter-finals

Riding on a brace from Prithviraj Tanpure, Arya Vidya Mandir (Juhu) edged past Cambridge International School (Kandivli) 2-1 and booked a spot in the quarter-finals of the boys U-16 Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) World Cup Fiesta inter-school football tournament at Azad Maidan recently.

Prithviraj put AVM ahead in the fourth minute after latching on to a loose ball and placing it into the right corner.

Anish Kunder equalised for Cambridge in the 11th minute with a neat finish into the top right corner. After the break, Prithviraj struck again, finding the net in the 21st minute to restore AVM's lead. The Juhu team's defence held firm thereafter.

In another match, Bombay Scottish (Mahim) secured the full three points after Notre Dame School (Vasai) failed to turn up for the fixture.
