United in crisis: WAGs cancel night out

Manchester United players's wives and girlfriends were reportedly asked to cancel a night out following defender Lisandro Martinez's recent outburst at sporting director Jason Wilcox over the perceived lack of quality signings during the summer transfer window.

According to British tabloid The Sun, Muri Lopez (Martinez's partner), Anouska Santos (Luke Shaw's girlfriend) and Ana Pinho (Bruno Fernandes's wife), among others, had to call off their planned dinner at Cibo, a popular Manchester restaurant where legendary United boss Sir Alex Ferguson frequently dined.

"The girls were looking forward to having a nice meal out. But they had to cancel it at the last minute in the wake of Martinez's comments. The club told everyone to keep a low profile since being pictured out in the town when the club was in a crisis wouldn't be a good look," a source told the UK publication.
