Manchester United started off with a bang, scoring twice in the first 15 minutes. Mattheus Cunha opened the scoring from a corner before Benjamin Sesko doubled the lead as United finished the first half leading 2-0.
In the second half, Liverpool scored two quick goals to peg back United and level the game at 2-2. Dominic Szobozlai and Cody Gapko scored for the visitors.
Kobbie Mainoo scored from outside the box in the final minutes to give United a much-desired win.
Mainoo's winner meant United moved 6 points clear of Liverpool and secured a UCL spot for the next season.
This was the first time in 10 years that Man United completed a league double over their rivals. Mainoo scored the winner for the hosts, having signed a new deal last week that will keep him at the club till 2031.
