AK Antony awards Rs 30 lakh to Vijay Kumar

Defence Minister AK Antony presented a cash reward of Rs 30 lakh to Vijay Kumar, who won a silver medal in the 25-metre rapid fire pistol event at the London Olympics.


The minister, at a brief ceremony, congratulated Vijay Kumar who was yesterday promoted to the rank of Subedar Major in the Indian army.

The minister also lauded the armed forces for having scouted and nurtured talent in various disciplines, and for providing coaching.u00a0
