Aman, Maitri win in U-10 inter-school chess

Jamnabai Narsee's Maitri Choksey and Golkuldham's Aman Khanna won gold in the U-10 category of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) inter-school chess tournament held at St Paul's High School (Dadar) on Saturday. It was the first time that an U-10 category was introduced in the event


Jamnabai Narsee's Maitri Choksey and Golkuldham's Aman Khanna won gold in the U-10 category of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) inter-school chess tournament held at St Paul's High School (Dadar) on Saturday. It was the first time that an U-10 category was introduced in the event.

Maitri, playing with black, shared the point with her opponent Kinnari Shah of SVDD English School (Ghatkopar) as both were equally placed in the stipulated time of 30 minutes. Despite the draw, Maitri comfortably topped the league with 7.5/8.

Desai Ekaa missed the gold by just half a point and had to be content with silver.
Aman defeated Jamnabai Narsee's Rahil Gandhi in his last league game to clinch the gold with 8.5 points, only half a point ahead of Bombay Scottish's Rohan Raheja.u00a0
