British professional boxer Amir Khan's wife Faryal Makhdoom revealed that she thought her marriage to the former light-welterweight world champion would be a fairytale, but in recent months it has been marred by spats with his family.
Makhdoom's numerous fall outs with the Bolton-born Khan's family was documented widely in the British media. "In my head, living with my new husband was going to be this fairytale, but it was hard and I didn't have any friends. Bolton is very backward. Compared to New York, it's a village," Makhdoom told The Sun.
