Carlsen shocks world champion Anand

World Champion Viswanathan Anand was shocked by Norwegian Magnus Carlsen in the ninth round of fifth Final Chess Masters here on Saturday.

The first eight games were drawn, but Anand broke down under pressure to lose his first game of the tournament.

The defeat put the Indian Grandmaster in the fifth spot in the six-player double round robin tournament.u00a0
