Chanu bags three bronze medals

India's campaign in the Junior World Weightlifting Championships, which began yesterday, started on a bright note with Saikhom Mirabai Chanu bagging three bronze medals in the women's 48kg category.


Mirabai won the medals in snatch (72kg), clean and jerk (93kg) and total lift (165kg) categories.

However, the men's 56kg event witnessed heartbreak for India as Apurba Chetia finished fourth in each of snatch (102kg), clean and jerk (127kg) and total lift (229kg).
