Aditi Mutatakar defeated Sri Lanka's Dhananayake 21-14, 21-8. The only time Indian contingent had problems, was in mixed doubles, when the scratch combination of Rupesh Kumar and Ashwini Ponappa were stretched to full three close games by the Australian pair, Veeran and his sister Vithiveeran. The Indians won 21-16, 18-21, 21-18.
In the men's singles, P Kashyap and Chetan Anand also moved into the next round with superlative performances. Anand defeated Fagbemi of Nigeria 21-12, 21-10, while Kashyap won 21-5, 21-12 against Charles Payne of Jamaica.u00a0 Saina Nehwal had an easy outing too yesterday. She defeated Susan Thomas of Wales 21-5, 21-9. Her big test will arrive in the coming days.
