"We have arrested Anjum with nine grams of ganja. A case has been registered under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act," said Alok Mittal, Joint Commissioner of Police, Gurgaon. According to police sources Anjum had come from Sohna to pick up a delegate from the shooting range.
"When the car was entering there was a beep sound which raised suspicion and we stopped the car for second check," said a senior police official.
During inspections a packet of green powder was found under the driver's seat. ="The driver had kept the ganja for his personal use and since the quantity was very little so there is no possibility of him supplying it to the athletes," Mittal added.
Anjum was produced before a city court which sent him to 14 days of judicial custody. The CWG shooting event will be organised at Kadarpur between October 9 and 13.
