"I feel competitive now," said Teimuraz Gabashvili after beating Andy Roddick here on Saturday. The World No 114 had never previously gone beyond the second round at a Grand Slam event. "I've won six matches (including qualifiers) and I didn't lose a set. I want to keep doing it. I don't think about where I am, or about Roland Garros. I just play," he said.

Roddick was forthcoming in praise. "He played good tennis. Credit to him. He got the best of me and he was getting the best of me on 70 per cent of the points," said the dejected American.
Gabashvili, who was playing in his first Grand Slam third-round match, will now play Jurgen Melzer (22).
The Austrian completed an upset of his own against ninth seed David Ferrer, winning 6-4 6-0 7-6 (7/1).
