Jeev Milkha Singh, who failed to make the US Open, made up for the disappointment with a fine three-under 67 that gave him a share of 12th place after the first round of the St Jude Classic in Memphis.
Jeev had five birdies against two bogeys for a solid start to the $5.6-million event. England's Lee Weswood led with a round of 63.
