Chandigarh's Vanshika Sawhney bagged a double crown, winning the under-12 and under-14 girls' title. Yet, it was Karan Mehta who emerged as the last day's star of the All India Championship Series Tennis Tournament at the Willingdon Sports club, Mahalaxmi, yesterday.

Playing on his home turf, sixth seed Karan made a stunning comeback to oust seventh seed Rohan Samant 2-6, 6-0, 6-1 to pocked the under-14 boys' title.

Intikhab Ali, who coaches Karan at Willingdon, was impressed with his prodigy's performance.
"The talent is very much evident, the passion and hunger to perform is certainly there, but Karan needs to improve on his serve, and more importantly, on his fitness levels," Ali said.
