World No.3 Gagan Narang edged out Beijing Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra to win the gold in the 10-metre air rifle shooting competition of the Commonwealth Games here Wednesday.
Narang, who equalled his own world record in the qualification round with a perfect score of 600, shot 703.6 in the finals, leaving Bindra (698 points) behind.
The bronze medal went to James Huckle (693.5) of England.
The two had on Monday won the 10 air rifle mens pairs event to open India's gold-medal account in the Commonwealth Games.
