Nicole Scherzinger opens up about her break-up with Lewis Hamilton

London: Nicole Scherzinger and Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton may have patched up, but the break-up last year has certainly left some scars.

The pop music diva opened up about her break-up with the Mercedes driver in an interview to The Sun yesterday.

Scherzinger said: "I went to a very dark place. It was a hard time in my life.

"Everybody out there struggles with those issues at times - loneliness and looking for love. I was trying to figure all that out."

Scherzinger and Hamilton split last year after being together for almost five years. The couple reconciled and were seen together earlier this year.

They recently celebrated the sixth anniversary of their relationship in Italy. "We're good now," Scherzinger was quoted as saying. "We're taking it one day at a time. It's a relationship I really care about."

Recently, Scherzinger dropped a hint that they are contemplating marriage. However, as of now the Hawaii-born star is focusing solely on her music after being overlooked for the forthcoming The X Factor series.
