Rio de Janerio: India's Virender finished ninth in the men's javelintThrow - F56/57 final at the 2016 Rio Paralympics Games here.

Virender scored 35.73 m in the first three attempts at the Olympic stadium on Monday.

The gold and silver medals in the event went to Mohammad Khalvandu and Abdollah Heidari Til of Iran with a distance of 46.12 and 43.77 metres respectively. The bronze went to Ngoc Hung Cao of Vietnam with a season'ws best of 43.27 m.
