Indian-origin basketball player Canadian Sim Bhullar (22), who is currently playing for the Reno Bighorns, an affiliate team of the Sacramento Kings in the NBA Development League (D- League), aims to be the first player of Indian descent to play in the NBA.

"I have not set any timeline for myself. I am concentrating on my game and focusing on the best I can be right now. However, I believe I am ready for the next level," the towering 7 feet 5 inch Bhullar said during an interaction over the phone yesterday.
Bhullar is currently leading the D-league in field goal percentage and blocks. "I have become more comfortable with my body and the game. The support staff at Reno Bighorns have played a big role in helping me become more effective on court.
Getting fit
"I spend a lot of time with the trainer doing cardio, eating healthy and training better. I have also shed extra weight," said Bhullar, whose younger brother Tanveer (7 feet 3 inches) also plays basketball for New Mexico State University.
