Snooker: Aditya Mehta stuns Jimmy White

India's ace cueist and World No 74, Aditya Mehta won the third round match at the qualifying stages of the International Open Tournament here yesterday with a thrilling 6-5 victory over Jimmy White.

Trailing behind in the first session with 1-3, Mehta recovered with breaks of 79 and 69 to level things 3-3 at the interval. Then, once again going 3-5 down, Mehta rallied with a 53 break before clinching Frame No 10 on the pink for 5-5. In the decider frame, White had the first opportunity, Mehta put up an excellent 73 to snatch victory.
