The winners of the CCI-GMBA Mumbai District Badminton Championship at Churchgate
Ajay Meena and Naishaa Kaur Bhatoye won the men's and women's singles titles respectively at the Yonex Sunrise CCI-GMBA Mumbai District Badminton Championship, organised by the Cricket Club of India in association with the Greater Mumbai Badminton Association (GMBA), at Churchgate recently.
In the men's final, top seed Meena beat Harshit Mahimkar 21-17, 23-22, while the women's summit clash saw No. 1 seed Bhatoye get the better of Chitwan Khatri 21-13, 21-11.
Among other winners, CCI shuttlers dominated with Rudra Gawde (girls U-15), Ruhaan Bhatia (boys U-15), Akshat Raisurana (boys U-17) and Harshit Mahimkar (boys U-19) emerging champions.
In the girls U-15 final, Gawde beat Anvisha Ghorpade 21-14, 21-17, while the boys U-15 final saw Bhatia dominating Vivaan Waingankar 21-6, 21-10.
In the boys U-17 final, Raisurana beat Dhruv Pawar 21-18, 21-13 after which an evenly-matched boys U-19 final saw Mahimkar eventually getting the better of No. 2 seed Raisurana in three sets, 18-21, 21-7, 21-15.
