Alexander Zverev serves to Arthur Fery during the semi-final clash on Friday
Fresh from his stellar straight-set victory over 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, Italian World No. 1 Jannik Sinner looks incredibly well poised to defend his Wimbledon title when he takes on World No. 3 Alexander Zverev of Germany here on Sunday.
However, despite being the favourite, Sinner is wary of the challenge posed by the in-form Zverev, who won his maiden Grand Slam title last month at the French Open and has sustained that momentum at the All England Club, dropping just two sets en route to the summit clash.

"When you start to win a lot of matches and don't lose a lot, it shows that he [Zverev] is playing incredible tennis. I saw his semi-final clash with Arthur Fery, and he was playing very, very aggressive tennis. His confidence is really good. He's very relaxed on court at the moment. So, I'll try to do the best I can, and then we see how it goes," said Sinner after his win over Djokovic on Friday.
Sinner holds the upper hand against Zverev in their recent encounters - the German has not beaten the four-time Grand Slam champion in their last nine matches since 2023.
Nevertheless, the top-ranked Italian expects a different sort of challenge this time around due to the soaring temperatures and the fact that the German is now finally making the most of his booming serves on grass.
"There'll be less exchanges, less rhythm. This we know because of the surface being that fast. Being also quite warm, it's going to be good for big server, and he is definitely a big server.
Whatever happened in the past between me and him, it happened. In between, he won a Grand Slam in Paris, which gave him a lot of confidence. We can see the level he's producing here. We all hope for a good match," added the Italian top seed.
