Third seed Piyush Kamble staged a remarkable fightback to overcome the spirited challenge from an unseeded Pranav Amble and win 20-22, 23-21, 21-17 in an exciting men's singles first round match of the CCI-GMBA Yonex Sunrise District Badminton Championship on Monday.
In contrast, fourth seed Ruturaj Rathod had an easy outing, beating Piroze Kartak 21-11, 21-7. Former champion Nigel D'Sa defeated Tilak Kanungo 21-5, and 21-11.
