Health workers skip meal citing poor quality
If you thought several things were rotten at CWG 2010, here's proof of that. On Thursday, many doctors and other medical staff present at certain stadiums refused to eat the packaged food served to them, complaining about the odour. Health workers at various Games venues have been continuously complaining about the poor quality of food.

"The food served to us today was stinking. So we decided not to eat it. The quality of the food was not good right from the beginning, but we cannot take risks with our health anymore," said one of the doctors present at Talkatora Stadium on the condition of anonymity.
The similar situation happened at Major Dhyanchand Stadium as well as in the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee swimming complex.
"I think the food given to us was stale. We have been eating this food for long, but if we fall ill during the Games, who will take care of us," said one of the medical staffers present at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee swimming complex.
Even, the coffee machine at Yamuna Sports Complex is reportedly not working."We avoid the food due to its poor quality. We have to sit at the venue for long hours, at least the coffee machine should be working," said one of the doctors at Yamuna Sports Complex.
Medical workers are already facing problems related to accreditation cards. Almost 200 employees are still on the waiting list.
The health department is well aware of the issue and agrees that the problem persists."I have also been hearing about the problems. But the Organising Committee is responsible for serving the poor quality food. All the doctors are also bringing up the same issue before me," said Dr Kiran Walia, Delhi Health Minister.
