Indianu00a0batting legends Sunil Gavaskar and Gundappa Vishwanath will receive golden bats at a felicitation function to honour them during their 60th year.
The function will be held at Rang Sharda in Bandra (West) on November 12, a day after the India vs Australia one-day international at the DY Patil Stadium, Nerul.
The bats will weigh 60 grams each to compliment Gavaskar and Vishwanath's age.
According to journalist Dwarkanath Sanzgiri, who is part of organisers Tirkitdha Group, the event will be graced by Bollywood giant Amitabh Bachchan. He will felicitate the two great batsmen while Sachin Tendulkar will be on stage as chief guest.
Apart from an interaction session involving the greats, presenters Sanzgiri, Harsha Bhogle, Amin Sayani and the audience, a skit will be performed by Makarand Anaspure and Pushkar Shrotri. Bangalore-based spin stalwart Bhagwat Chandrasekhar will attend the function too. Chandra played alongside Vishy and Sunny through the 1970s.
