GD Birla badminton: International shuttlers shine at Bombay Gymkhana

Former international shuttlers Aparna Popat and Mangrish Palekar showcased their class in their respective categories to advance to the next round of the GD Birla Memorial Masters Inter-Club badminton tournament, promoted by Badminton Gurukul, at Bombay Gymkhana on Friday.

In the 75+ women's doubles quarters, Popat and partner Naheed Divecha beat Jaanvi Merani and Sonal Battad 15-11, 15-3.

Meanwhile, the duo of Palekar and Deepak Jaitly comprehensively defeated Ankit Kabra and Tushar Mangal 30-11 to storm into the 85+ men's doubles quarter-finals.
