Germany successfully defended their FIH Men's World Cup title by edging out a spirited Spain side 1-0 in the final here on Sunday. Michel Struthoff scored the winning goal for the Germans in the 44th minute.
This was Germany's fourth World Cup title, making them the joint-most successful side with Pakistan. Meanwhile, Spain's wait for a maiden trophy continues - they've finished runners-up thrice.
