The right-handed opener showed tremendous grit throughout his 228-ball innings, which included 23 hits to the fence.

The decision to bat first on a good wicket paid off for the Dadar side as Vedprakash and his partner Yash Rajan (14) got their team off to a good start. At lunch, the Dadar outfit reached 84 without any damage.

The duo stitched a 88-run partnership as they dominated the Rizvi bowlers. After the dismissal of Yash, Harsh Salunkhe (41) ably partnered Vedprakash as they put on a 90-run partnership for the second wicket.

By tea, IES VN Sule Guruji were comfortably placed at 207 for the loss of two wickets. Off-spinner Omkar Khot (2-37) was the pick of the bowlers for Rizvi.

Harsh stars for Al-Barkaat Harsh Mogaveera's half century (60) powered Al-Barkaat MMI English School (Kurla) to 230-7 against Swami Vivekanand International School (Borivli) at the Oval Maidan yesterday.

Electing to field, the Borivli outfit failed to make the most of the early conditions as they let Al-Barkaat take the initiative. Saumil Malandkar and Adil Khan chipped in with 40 and 39 respectively for the Kurla school.

SVIS bowler Om Sawant bagged figures of 3-87.
