Goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak returned to the Harmanpreet Singh-led Indian men's squad, while the core of the Asian Games gold-winning line-up was retained for the Asian Champions Trophy to be held in Punjab from October 27 to November 5.
Defender Amandeep Lakra and midfielder Aditya Arjun Lalage also earned a chance to strengthen their place in the side. "Playing in Punjab will be special. This squad blends youth with experience, and we can't wait to feed off the home crowd," said coach Craig Fulton.
Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, China and Bangladesh are the other teams that will feature in the tournament, with India playing against each one of them in a single round-robin format.
The top four finishers in the group stage will advance to the semi-finals.
