India's top-ranked men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty reached their first final of the 2026 season after defeating Malaysia's Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin in a thrilling last-four encounter at the Thailand Open Super 500 tournament here on Saturday.
The fourth-ranked Indian duo, seeded first in the tournament, recovered from dropping the first set to seal a gripping 19-21, 22-20, 21-16 win.
"We're really happy with the performance. It was tough technically as well as physically. The shuttles were not very fast today, so nobody got easy winners. Izzuddin was hitting really hard and we knew we had to be ready for those smashes," Shetty said.
This will be the Indian duo's first final appearance since the China Masters in 2025. They will be looking to win their first title since the Thailand Open in 2024 when they take on Indonesia's Leo Carnando and Daniel Marthin in the summit clash on Sunday.
