Somdev Devvarman and Sanam Singh's doubles triumph at the Asian Games has not surprised tennis great Leander Paes. "I am not surprised, but very pleased. I know the way Somdev conducts himself and Sanam's hard work. They have made me and the country very proud," Paes told MiD DAY from London where he is part of the ATP World Tour Finals.
"Sanam is a carbon copy of Somdev and they are best of friends."u00a0 Somdev has another challenge on hand when he takes on Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin in the singles finals. "It's going to be a great match and I have tremendous faith in Somdev. I was with Istomin in Paris recently and he asked me, 'who is India sending for the Asian Games?' When I mentioned Somdev, he said, 'oh no.' "
