Indian rifle shooter Sanjeev Rajput made India proud by winning the gold medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Position event at ISSF World Cup in Changwon, South Korea yesterday. Rajput, one of India's most consistent rifle shooters, shot his personal best score of 1278.2 (1176 + 102.2.). By winning the gold medal, he also secured the quota for next year's London Olympics 2012. This was Sanjeev's first Gold in a World Cup and he won it in style by beating his closest opponent by almost 6 points.
Sanjeev, who is the National Record holder in the same event, started the event on a brilliant note by shooting a stunning 398 out of 400 in the Prone position.
