India's PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen advanced to the quarter-finals with contrasting wins at the Singapore Open here on Thursday.

Sindhu took just 37 minutes to get the better of Riko Gunji of Japan 21-9, 21-12, while Sen benefited from his Thai opponent Kunlavut Viditsarn retiring with cramps after the Indian won the first two points.

Meanwhile, the men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also advanced to the last-eight stage with a 21-15, 11-21, 21-18 win over Chinese Taipei's Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan.
