Sumit Nagal admitted he was physically a notch below Kwon Soonwoo as India slumped to a 1-3 Davis Cup defeat against Korea. After beginning the day trailing 0-2, India's doubles duo of Dhakshineswar Suresh and N Sriram Balaji kept the team's faint hopes of reaching the Final 8 alive by beating Korea's Jisung Nam and Uisung Park 6-3 3-6 6-3.

However, Nagal couldn't sustain the momentum, as he crashed to a 1-6, 2-6 loss against Kwon. "He [Kwon] played at a very high level. I was one level below him. He just totally outplayed me, that's it. It was tough to hurt him in these [slow] conditions" Nagal said.

The Indian also felt Kwon was physically fresher after playing a shorter match against Dhakshineswar on Day One. "He had at least three-four hours more than me to recover. My game against Hyeon Chung [on Day One] was longer with more rallies. Kwon was physically better than me today," added Nagal.
