Indian cricket team's ODI and Test skipper Shubman Gill said that Carlos Alcaraz's deceptive drop shot reminds him of his short-arm jab in cricket.

"The drop shot that Alcaraz plays, it reminds me of the short-arm jab in cricket. I play that shot too, it's my trademark shot. Quick, deceptive, and very effective," he said on JioStar.

Further, the cricketer also picked four interesting names with whom he would love to have dinner. The right-handed batsman said that it would be a "dream dinner" for him as the conversation among those bigwigs would be incredible.

"Serena Williams, Roger Federer, and then the cricketers would be Sir Viv Richards and Sachin sir. Those are the four legends I would love to sit with and have dinner with them. I think the conversations would be incredible. They have all dominated their eras and have so much to share about their journeys. It would be a dream dinner," said Gill.

The 26-year-old cricketer has backed Jannik Sinner to clinch the Wimbledon 2026 title.

"I'm backing Sinner to win Wimbledon. He is a fantastic player, and he carries himself really well both on and off the court," he said.

The title clash of the ongoing Wimbledon is scheduled to be played between Italy's Sinner and Germany's Alexander Zverev on July 12.

On the other hand, Gill, too, will gear up to lead Team India in the upcoming three-match ODI series against England. The first match is scheduled to be played on July 14 at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham. Fans will witness Team India's batting geats Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli take the field. Kohli's feature in the series will be subject to fitness.
