Roger Federer would love to face Rafael Nadal for the first time at the US Open this year because that means the two men would be contesting the final at Flushing Meadows.
Surprisingly, the world's top two players have never met in New York, despite having won 20 of the last 23 Grand Slam titles between them.
They have played eight times in total at other grand slams, Nadal winning six of those and 14 of their 21 tussles overall, although Federer has won 16 grand slams compared to the Spaniard's eight.

With Nadal, Federer seeded 1-2, they can only meet in the final, although the likes of Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, etc will be among those determined to prevent that happening.
"It would be great to play Rafa here," Federer said at his pre-tournament press conference on Saturday.
"We have played in all the other majors but this one is missing.
I hope we can do it this year, but if not we will both be around a little longer. I would love to play him but it can only be the final so we have some work to do first," added Federer who for the first time since 2005 is not the defending champion here having lost in the final last year to Juan Martin del Potro.
