Jannik Sinner became the first Italian in 50 years to win the Italian Open as he achieved the feat after defeating Casper Ruud in the final 6-4, 6-4.

Sinner has now added the only missing ATP Masters 1000 title to his cabinet with his strong 6-4, 6-4 win over Ruud at the Centre Court. 

Sinner became the first Italian to win the Rome title since Adriano Panatta won it in 1976

He has become just the second player to complete a Career Golden Masters after Novak Djokovic had achieved the feat in 2018

Sinner broke Djokovic's record for being the youngest to complete a Career Golden Slam, achieving the feat at just 24. Djokovic was 31 when he won all nine tour level tites
