DJ Ankytrixx, who will perform in the city this week, promises a lot of collaborations and electronic gigs this year
Ankit Kocher, better known as DJ Ankytrixx, self-admittedly had a crazy 2013. He was busy playing gigs all over the country as well as abroad in Ibiza, Amsterdam, Berlin, Bora Bora and other places. The DJ, who was the winner of the prestigious VH1 MyFavAwards for #DJ of the Year (2013), turned producer with his single No Kontrol. DJ Ankytrixx is now all set to perform at Royalty Club in Bandra on March 13. He tells sunday mid-day about his future plans.

The future sounds good
I released No Kontrol with a French label called Freshin Records, owned by a techno DJ called Da Fresh. So that a big breakthrough to get into the international scene with a good label. Also, there have been a lot of collaborations with various DJs, which we worked on last year and will release this year. We are now concentrating on the next big sound.
EDM fever in the country
I have been in the music scene since 1996-97 and have seen how Electronic Dance Music (EDM) has shaped up over the years. Five years ago, when this music was relatively new, there was still a lot of noise being made. But now, it has become a little more serious. Funds are being pumped to promote this genre and it is reaping good returns. In every major city in the country, there are at least two or three electronic gigs every weekend.
Bollywood calling EDM
I was offered to do the music for Sholay 3D but I couldn't because of time constraints. But this is a huge sign that Bollywood is now open to EDM.
