How are we at the end of the year? Well, almost. It's Fall, and soon it will be Winter - as much of a winter as Mumbai can have. But we take whatever we get, and we will use this time to integrate and get prepped for the year ahead. Here are three small ways to make the three months count.
It doesn't matter how the year went. What matters is, the lessons that it taught you. Integrate your lesson. For me, what has worked is journaling - every day. It reminds me how far I have come, and what lessons I still need to learn. Also, I feel the end of the year is to see all that happened in the most objective way you can - some years have lots of fun, some full of hardship, some are in limbo, and some are full of healing. What was your like? Mine was one of healing and coming back to myself, and by the end, I have seen things moving. Sit down, take some time out in these three months, and figure out what the year means for you.
Whatever the year has been like, take the last three months to rest and to celebrate and have some fun. It helps that we have Diwali, Navratri, Durga Puja and Christmas coming up. But celebrations can also mean taking a Sunday to do whatever you want to do. Also, remember to rest. It's when we are rested that we can think straight and better. So sleep for a while day if that's what it takes. Find your own resting and celebration rituals that don't break the bank.
Take the three months to figure how you want the next year to go. I am not saying setting some lofty goals, but maybe, giving an order to the Universe. What about: Hey universe, I would like to go on a trip to Japan next year. Or, I would like a job that pays me R40 lakhs a year. What if the universe was a menu, and you could just order off it. Sit down and get clear about your goals. Let the manifestation begin.
