Following four months of torture and torment, the girl finally managed to escape and now cops and well-wishers are helping her in tracking down the culprits.

The mother had taken the 12-year-old to the home of one Santosh Mhaske, who in turn sold her to a man named Deepak Chakradhar. Chakradhar and his accomplices then tied the girl's hand with ropes and raped her repeatedly.
After this, she was forcibly taken to Trimurti Tamasha Kala Kendra at Chaufula in Khed taluka by the accused Sangeeta, Shiva and Dutta. The minor was forced to dance in the tamasha shows organised by Sangeeta who owns the kendra.
The girl tried to run away several times, but was caught by the culprits. Fortunately, she managed to contact Saira Shaikh, the rector of her school hostel, from the mobile phone of a person working at the kendra.
“I had advised her to somehow escape. Accordingly, around 10 am on Sunday she reached Alandi with the help of a two-wheeler driver, and from there she came to Pune railway station in an ST bus.
I had called up Assistant Police Inspector (API) Vazir Shaikh of CID to help us in this case,” said Saira. “The girl’s mother, who is yet to be arrested as she is on the run, has been threatening me over the phone,” she added.
API Vazir Shaikh took the girl into custody at the station and helped her lodge a complaint against seven persons, including her mother. Since she is a minor, social activist Aparna Dubey lodged the complaint on her behalf.
The case was initially registered at Bundgarden police station, under whose jurisdiction the railway falls. The matter has now been transferred to Chakan police station, as the kendra – where the alleged offences were committed – is in the vicinity. Cops have reportedly taken a suspect into custody. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Family ties
The girl’s father was shocked when he came to know that his wife had sold his daughter to a pimp for flesh trade. However, the mother registered a complaint against him at the local police station on charges of raping his other daughter. The father is still lodged in Solapur jail.u00a0
