Samir Kochhar to star in show that discusses life of soldiers living at the border

A series of web shows, including The Test Case, Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat and the recently released Sacred Games behind him, Samir Kochhar is set to work on another digital offering. mid-day has learnt that the actor — known for his rich baritone — has been approached by the makers of an upcoming series with the role of an Army officer.
A source says, "The YouTube show is likely to be directed by a newbie. It is based on jawans, and puts the spotlight on the manner in which they strike a balance between their professional and personal lives."

While the series finds its inspiration in a 2017 video that sparked controversy after an Army man alleged that the troop was being served poor quality food, it will harbour a different tone. "The spotlight will be on how tough the life of an Army man living at the border is. If all goes well, the actor will be shooting for two pilot episodes next month," the source adds. Kochhar confirmed the news to mid-day adding that he was "looking forward to work on the brilliant concept".
