Socialite Rhea Pillai yesterday approached the HC against an order of the session court in a domestic violence case filed by her against tennis player Leander Paes and his father. The HC has admitted her revision petition against Paes.

Pillai, who has a ten-year daughter with him, had filed the case at the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate court.

Paes had argued that the case couldn’t stand as they were not married, but Pillai’s counsel contended that they have a daughter from a live-in relationship and that Paes had mentioned her as spouse on several documents, including those for a visa.

Pillai’s counsels Dipesh Mehta and Rumi Mirza, arguing the revision petition in court, told justice AM Badar that Paes had several times accepted in documents that Rhea was his wife.

Aabad Ponda appearing for Paes argued that they were ready to go before the Bandra Magistrate court and depose there. Mirza replied they wanted to finish the trial there as it was going against them.

After hearing both sides, Badar admitted Pillai’s petition.
