Following a petty dispute with his elder brother, a Std IX student was allegedly assaulted by two men with a blade at the entrance of Prathamesh English Medium School in Maheshnagar, Pimpri, yesterday afternoon

Officials of the Pimpri police station have Amin Shaikh (19) and Fayyaz Shaikh (21), both residents of Nehrunagar, Pimpri. The injured boy was identified as Ajay Shivaji Chowgule (15), a resident of Nehru Nagar. Ajay was rushed to the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Pimpri for treatment.

According to the police, while Ajay is a student of Prathamesh English Medium School, the suspects belonged to other school. The duo had recently fought with Ajay’s elder brother Akshay.

Inspector Mohan Vidhate of Pimpri police station said, “Amin and Fayyaz visited Ajay around 1pm. While he was sitting near a window in his classroom, the accused started teasing him by blowing whistles and passing comments. It did not end there.

While Ajay was on his way home, the duo intercepted him at the entrance of the school and attacked him with a blade that was attached to a wooden stick. Ajay sustained facial injuries.

“We have arrested the duo and further investigation is on,” Vidhate said.
