El Clasico cost Real: Mourinho

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho lamented the fact that his side had to play Barcelona in a critical La Liga match just four days before the second leg of the Champions League against Bayern Munich.

“If we weren’t playing to win the title, we would have had fresher players, but the team was fantastic in terms of their physical condition. Barcelona played the Clasico and then two days later lost to Chelsea, this has incredible value,” Mourinho said after Wednesday’s defeat to Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu.
