England won't take risk with spinner Swann, says skipper Cook

Skipper Alastair Cook has revealed England will not risk spin bowler Graeme Swann for the semi-final game against South Africa if they are not 100 per cent sure of his fitness.

“We haven’t ruled him out totally. We will have to see how he trains today and pulls up tomorrow,” Cook said. “There is one thing for certain he won’t be risked. Tredders (James Tredwell) is an exceptional bowler so we might be cautious with him and be sensible.”

Amla’s threat
Cook also pinpointed the threat of South Africa batsman Hashim Amla as a key man they must try to stop. “He is a massive player for them. He is a very good player and we saw that first hand last year in the one-dayers and in the Test matches as well,” Cook said.
