Marcus Rashford returned to the starting line-up in style as the Manchester United forward struck a match-winning brace to settle a pulsating 200th meeting with bitter rivals Liverpool.
The race for second spot in EPL only added intrigue to the Saturday's duel. Rashford,20, inspired his team to a 2-1 win as Eric Bailly's own goal brought a nervy ending against Liverpool.
The win sent Red Devils five points ahead of Liverpool. United also close to within 13 points of Manchester City. Jose Mourinho's men took a huge step closer to guaranteeing a top-four finish by opening up a 12-point lead on fifth-placed Chelsea.
