Joginder Sharma's car rammed into a vehicle near IGI underpass. He is in the ICU in critical condition, say doctors

Former Indian cricketer Joginder Sharma was hospitalised on Thursday morning after he met with an accident in Dwarka. He was driving a Swift at the time of the accident, which rammed into a Tavera, which belongs to a call centre. At present, he is in the ICU at Balaji Action Medical Cancer Institute in Paschim Vihar.

According to the police, the incident took place near IGI underpass. Joginder was travelling in his Swift. The official said the Tavera was ahead of him. At the underpass, the Tavera driver slowed down near a speed breaker. Joginder's car then rammed into it.u00a0

"Joginder suffered critical injuries in the accident. A police team reached the spot after receiving a PCR call. Joginder was rushed to Ayushman Hospital, where his condition deteriorated and he was referred to Balaji Action Medical Cancer Institute," the police official informed.

The official said Joginder is undergoing treatment in the ICU at the hospital and his condition is stated to be critical. DCP of south-west Delhi, AK Ojha said the incident has been reported at Sector-23 Dwarka police station. "Our investigation officer has gone to the hospital to take Sharma's statement," the police official added.
