London: Steven Gerrard has lashed out at his former Liverpool controversial team-mate Mario Balotelli, saying that the latter will never fulfill his potential to become a world-class striker because of his mentality.

The veteran midfielder revealed in his new book 'My Story' that Balotelli doesn't work hard enough and commits too many mistakes, the Daily Express reported.

Gerrard, who is currently playing for LA Galaxy, also said that the Italian international was always late during practice sessions and used to say the wrong things on social media.

The 35-year-old, however, ruled out any dispute between them, adding that he always looks for an opportunity to help and praise Balotelli.

Meanwhile, Gerrard also agreed with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's views that Balotelli is 'unmanageable'.

Earlier, Balotelli had rejoined the AC Milan on a season-long loan last month just a year after leaving the Italian club to move to Liverpool.

Balotelli endured a disastrous outing at Anfield, scoring only one Premier League goal for Liverpool and faced flak for his attitude and lack of work-rate during his ill-fated campaign last season.
