According to video footage from a CCTV camera installed outside a nearby hotel, the kidnappers dragged the girl into a car outside D S D College on New Railway Road and sped away.

A few people ran after the car to help the woman, but could not succeed. A woman, resident of Sector 17, who was at the spot, informed the police control room about the incident.

Upon investigation, the college authorities told the police that the girl did not belong to the institution. The police, however, traced the girl and rescued her. Investigation revealed that the girl was acquainted with one of the kidnappers.

“We are questioning the accused. The victim is safe. More information regarding the incident will be shared after initial investigation,” Gurgaon CP Navdeep Singh Virk said.

Police sources claimed all three kidnappers belong to politically influential families.
